About Anita Genova

My career in languages began in education. As an English teacher in Fribourg and other Swiss cantons, I worked in German-speaking schools and bilingual German–French environments, developing a practical understanding of how language and culture shape communication. This experience taught me that effective translation is about more than finding the right words: it is about understanding the people, context, and purpose behind them.
I later brought this perspective to the Embassy of Pakistan in Bern, where I worked as a Translator-cum-Social Secretary. Working daily across German, French, and English, I handled sensitive internal translations and multilingual communications while also managing the Ambassador’s schedule. The role strengthened my ability to work accurately and discreetly, communicate across cultures, and handle complex projects under pressure.
Today, I work independently from my home office, specialising in translation, transcreation, subtitling, transcription, and other language services for German-speaking audiences. I hold a Certificate in Translation from Bellevue College in Washington, USA, and bring together my experience in education, diplomacy, and language services to create clear, culturally appropriate communication that works for its intended audience.
